Trey Cain, Esq, is the founder and president of Tennessee Title & Escrow Affiliates, LLC.  Mr. Cain has practiced real estate and bankruptcy law since 2000 and he has held a Real Estate Broker’s license since 2005.  Also in 2005, Mr. Cain, along with two partners, founded and continues to handle corporate real estate legal matters for Silverpointe Properties, LLC, a boutique up-scale residential, commercial, and investment real estate brokerage with offices in Franklin and Brentwood, Tennessee.

Mr. Cain began his legal career in Los Angeles as an attorney in the law firm Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, a large law firm with offices in most of the major cities around the world.  After some time practicing in the litigation group at Jones Day, Mr. Cain decided to refocuse his practice within a small law firm group, also in Los Angeles, where Mr. Cain developed expertise as a real estate title insurance litigator, litigating real estate title defect claims on behalf of large title insurance companies.  Handling these real estate title cases provided a wide range of courtroom experience for Mr. Cain in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.  Practicing real estate law in this intimate environment solidified Mr. Cain’s passion for all things real estate related.

In 2003, Mr. Cain and his young family moved from California to the great State of Tennessee, obtained his real estate license (and actually listed and sold real estate for a short time), founded Tennessee Title and his law firm, Cain & Associates, and was one of three original founders of Silverpointe Properties.

Since that time, in the title company, Mr. Cain has personally handled thousands of real estate transactions, including short sales, residential, commercial, investor representation, simultaneous closings, and foreclosed properties.  In his law firm, Mr. Cain has consulted and assisted scores of individuals with real estate related matters, including purchase and sale contracts, investor needs such as subject-to deals, lease purchase transactions, assignments of rights in purchase and sale agreements, 1031 exchanges, and landlord/tenant representation.  Mr. Cain has also recently taken a small number of cases related to lender liability, wrongful foreclosure, and foreclosure defense.  Mr. Cain’s law firm has also enjoyed assisting clients needing help in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

As a lawyer and as a licensed real estate broker and principal in a real estate brokerage, Mr. Cain has developed a truly unique perspective in representing real estate agents in the transactions in which they refer clients to close at Tennessee Title.  Mr. Cain has consulted with and assisted hundreds of real estate professionals in conducting successful negotiations and closings, including short sales.  Tennessee Title and its personnel are professional Nashville short sale closing professionals.  All title companies in the area have likely closed short sales, but Mr. Cain’s experience and the experience of the staff at Tennessee Title and Cain & Associates are very well positioned to continue to provide high levels of expertise in the Nashville short sale market.  Mr. Cain understands the needs and wants of all involved, the buyer, seller, the real estate agents, the short sale lender(s), and the buyer’s new mortgage lender.  It takes a seasoned quarterback to direct all involved toward a successful Nashville short sale, and Mr. Cain has the experience and grace to manage through even the most contentious short sale negotiations.  Mr. Cain is passionate about what he does; he is a real estate and bankruptcy lawyer.
